The news often says that semiconductors are the hope of Taiwan’s economy. If other countries lacked Taiwan’s semiconductors, their industries and national defense wouldn’t be able to advance. What are semiconductors? How does the industry make money? How did this industry rise in Taiwan? Mr. Tiuⁿ Chìn-kiông is an advisor to Sin-tek Pún-thó͘-gí Chhui-kóng Hia̍p-hōe and has worked in the semiconductor industry for 25 years.
